Education
Gaoia attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, along with certificates in Gender and Women Studies, and Asian American Studies with a Hmong Emphasis. Her academic background has equipped her with integrating an intersectional and holistic lens for social and digital media practices, as well as community organizing, giving her the ability to create inclusive, impactful, and culturally sensitive initiatives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Brand + Beyond
She now serves as the Communications and Engagement Specialist at Ever-Green Energy in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she manages digital communications, leads customer engagement efforts, and supports community-focused projects through thoughtful messaging and clear, accessible content. Her work centers on helping people understand the impact of sustainable energy solutions and strengthening relationships between the organization and the communities it serves.
Previously, Gaoia was the Marketing and Events Coordinator for Centergy, a regional economic development organization supporting five counties across Central Wisconsin. In that role, she helped tell the region’s story, elevate community partnerships, and support initiatives tied to talent growth, advocacy, business development, and regional collaboration.
Outside of her professional life, Gaoia loves cooking for friends and family, exploring new hiking spots, and serving her community. She has led free youth workshops on marketing and storytelling, and volunteers annually Wisconsin’s largest youth conference, Teen Summit, where she has taught sessions on healthy relationships and personal branding. No matter the setting, her work is rooted in connection, creativity, and community.
Gaoia first developed her craft as a freelance content creator, producing UGC videos, managing small influencer partnerships, and helping local businesses across Wisconsin share their stories in a way that felt true to who they are. She loves creating content that resonates deeply with both brands and the communities they serve.
Heart
"By centering human connections and understanding behavior, I approach every project with purpose. In the digital space, this philosophy drives my work as I craft social media campaigns, website experiences, and visual storytelling that not only engage audiences but foster authentic, lasting connections. For me, design is more than aesthetics—it’s about creating purposeful experiences that bring communities together, amplify minority narratives, and turn ideas into shared experiences."
